home made organic baby food

The baby food jars can be good choices. They can also be good guides to what fresh foods to try if you want to make some of your own.

Good organic baby foods to start with are cereal or rice, because they are two of the least likely foods to be allergic or intolerant to. Then introduce organic vegetables, such as peas, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, potatoes, or squash. Wait at least 3 days between new foods.

Using a baby food processor can be a great option, but be a little careful what goes in. For instance, some carrots have higher nitrates in them than the baby food makers are allowed to use in their jars. I prefer organic veggies and fruits in making your own organic baby food.

You can also experiment with some finger foods that will dissolve in the mouth, such as Cheerios, where the hole makes it tough to choke.
